Well its that time of year again: The Grand National is this Saturday at 16:15 (live on the BBC).

I am a horse fan, but not really a racing nut. You can’t help but be excited about the National, after all its the one day of the year when many of us have a flutter. As I work in the bookmaking industry I am unable to escape its clutches. No rest for me this Saturday I feel.

I think the buzz of this 4 mile plus marathon is a great feeling; everyone is working full steam and its almost a party like atmosphere. I am pretty certain there will be a few cheers as well as sobs on the day.

I am not going to make any predictions as the last horse I did that for was put down at the track (weep) but if you want to see the list of horseys running this weekend, try here

I, personally, am more looking forward to the after National party that we always have. Gibraltar is a fun place and when the staff go out, they really have fun!
